The Churches of the Circuit
Bristol North Circuit is part of Bristol District of the Methodist Church.
The Circuit includes 14 separate church buildings of all manner of shapes and sizes. Between the 14 churches there are only 13 congregations as the sites at Olveston and Tockington are used alternately by a single united Methodist congregation.
The churches at Pilning (St Peter's), Patchway (St Chad's) and Bradley Stoke (Holy Trinity) are ecumenical projects with joint oversight provided with the Anglican church. There are plans to establish a similar ecumenical project at the Severn Beach church again in partnership with the Anglican Church.
It is expected that in 2008 the five Bristol Circuits will unite to form the Bristol and South Gloucestershire Circuit. It is envisaged that this new Circuit will be fully operative by 2010. Currently all policies and practises, including staff responsibilities and sections are under review across the current Bristol Circuits.
